Thinking about information security and phishing attacks.
I recently received a "New My Gov Inbox Message" it landed in my inbox about 19:24
Then at 01:01 the following day I received a phishing SMS from what looks like a MyGov notice.
- Is someone snooping on messages directly to me?
- Are organisations sending bulk/batches messages to everyone at the same time and the phishers are just sending well timed notices to catch us out?
Disabling links in a SMS message seems like a simple capability to reduce the chance of clicking the wrong thing. Looking through my iPhone settings this doesn't seem to be an option. Anyone found this?
Are there better strategies that organisations could use to reduce opportunistic phishing via SMS?
(Yes, I reported this as spam)
