Splunk just launched the Agentic Ops Hackathon — $20,000 in prizes across tracks for Observability, Security, and Platform. Submissions open May 18 through June 15. Full details at the link.

I've been running Splunk in my homelab for a while now, and the shift toward agentic ops is real. Connecting Splunk's MCP server to Claude sits alongside the dashboards nicely — when you want to dig deeper or ask a quick question without building a new panel, it's a genuinely useful complement to the existing tooling.

The hackathon tracks map directly to where this gets interesting: intelligent incident investigation, network and security ops, developer tooling. Not "AI-washing" — actual agentic workflows layered on top of data you already have.
